Illustration Friday : Match
For this week, we have the completed colour version of last week's entry 'Capture'. Took me a week to do it and since I'm going to be out of town most of this week, I figured I'd use it for 'Match' (The seamen fought bravely but they were no match for the pirates!). And of course, the poem was written by Dogcrab especially for the occasion.
:D
Cheers

Yo Ho Ho And All That
Avast there, me hearties,
Shiver me timbers, me lads,
Get yer knives into them sailors,
Kill ’em in bunches and scads.
Shiver me timbers, me lads,
Get yer knives into them sailors,
Kill ’em in bunches and scads.
Board their little navy ship,
Aren’t it a mighty fine catch?
Send up that old Jolly Roger,
For us they isn’t no match.
Slash ’em with yer cutlasses,
Stick ’em with yer hooks,
They may fight with honour,
But we’ll win by hook or crook.
Stick ’em with yer hooks,
They may fight with honour,
But we’ll win by hook or crook.
Take all that shiny bullion,
Leave behind no gold,
Make me famous, laddies,
Make sure our tale gets told.
No sailor’s going to stop us now,
Sod ’em all, I say,
Give ’em hell from me, boys,
We’ll be legends in our day.
Sod ’em all, I say,
Give ’em hell from me, boys,
We’ll be legends in our day.
I can see the future now,
There’ll be a lad called Depp,
He'll play a man named Sparrow,
And make us look really hep.
There’ll be a lad called Depp,
He'll play a man named Sparrow,
And make us look really hep.
There’ll be ghosts in our story,
And the locker of Davy Jones,
They’ll pay gold to see our flag,
The ol’ skull and crossbones.
Don’t know how I sees such things,
Mayhap the rum went down too fast,
I needs a nap after all this lootin’,
So come on lads, Avast!
